Anna, Chef of Fattoria Maria
Nice to meet you, I’m Anna!
Anna is the chef of Fattoria Maria, the woman behind the preparation of passatelli (a type of pasta), sliced beef, garden’s vegetables and cheese!
Anna has been a teacher for many years, but found outher true calling is actually cooking.
Especially for others! Her house has always been a place where relatives and friends could go to taste incredible recipes. From an empty fridge she could serve dishes for ten people. When you are skilled like that, making it a job becomes inevitable!
She’s always liked to cook and invite friends over. She likes to learn, try new dishes, new techniques and new methods of preservation.
There are also some techniques that she’s learnt over the years that she’s decided to put aside. For example, preparing the dough in advance and then freezing it… No. This does not belong to her: at Fattoria Maria everything is fresh daily!
It is a passion that has accompanied her since she was a child when she would prepare lunches and dinners for everyone with her grandparents.
In fact, she learned from her mother, grandmother and cookbooks, many, to fill entire walls.
The family tradition: cuisine of Emilia and inspiration
For her daughter Elisa, pastry chef of the farm, the family tradition is the source of her inspiration. For the first Christmas of Fattoria Maria she was unsure of the menu to prepare. It was the customers themselves who made the choice: they asked what they usually eat at home, because those are the true flavors of Christmas, those of the family tradition.
Anna highly considers her guests and creates a strong empathic bond with them. She likes to think that positive energy gets transmitted from her hands to the food she makes, and customers notice!
